Molly Martinez-Collins (she/her) is a recent graduate student from the Shakespeare & Performance program at Mary Baldwin. Molly obtained a Master of Letters last year and will be graduating again this Spring 2024 with her MFA. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Molly has her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Dance from The University of Texas at Austin. With a focus in acting and performance, Molly was a founding member of the Meadowlark Shakespeare Company in Staunton, Virginia. Other acting credits include working at The American Shakespeare Center as an Understudy for a few seasons and in their production of A Christmas Carol two years in a row. Last year, Molly wrote a thesis called Shakespeare en La Frontera, a study of Shakespeare’s romances through the lens of border theory using Gloria Anzalduas book: Borderlands/ La Frontera: The New Mestiza. As a proud Tejana and Chicana, Molly is interested in performing Shakespeare and other Early Modern Theatre plays while making space for Latiné identities on stage and in academic scholarship in these specific fields.
